Reconstructive Procedures

Reconstructive Surgery Around the Eye and Face

Reconstructive surgery differs from cosmetic surgery in that reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the face, caused by birth defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma or injury, infection, tumors, or disease. It is generally performed to improve function, but may also be done to improve appearance.

Modern treatment options allow facial eye plastic surgeons to achieve improvements in form and function thought to be impossible ten years ago.

What Makes Surgery at Plastic Eye Surgery Associates Different?

There are several things.

Experience

The average plastic surgeon performs less than 23 cosmetic eyelid surgeries a year. Both of our surgeons complete over 500 each year.

Location

The vast majority of our cosmetic procedures are performed in the office and have been for the last 30 years, avoiding the hassles, infection risks, and additional expenses of surgery centers and hospitals.

Individualized care

Everyone has some degree of facial asymmetry. Not only is each person’s treatment individualized, but each eye is treated differently, focusing on leaving behind what appears more similar, not performing the same procedure on each eye and each person.

Natural tissue conservation

We strive to preserve as much natural tissue as possible. Rather than cutting out native fat and replacing it with fillers or fat from elsewhere in the body that behaves differently, we transpose and reposition native, regional tissues.

Commitment

Although each person is different, heals differently and poses slightly different challenges, we commit to helping as much as we can for as long as necessary to achieve the best and safest results that we can.
