Lower Eyelid Lift
Lower Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty) surgery is done to remove excess skin and wrinkles and the puffy fat “bags” of the lower lids. These can make you appear tired, sad, and older than you feel. Lower eyelid surgery aims to correct this, leaving a more youthful, rested, and alert appearance.
Newer approaches modified and perfected by us, which include muscle tightening and fat redistribution into hollow areas are commonly performed in our practice, instead of more archaic removal of these important tissues, unless specifically warranted. Often, Lower eyelid blepharoplasties may be performed through an invisible incision on the inner surface of the eyelid without changing the eye shape. Although raising the outer corners of the eyes can also be achieved, if desired.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasties encompass a wide range of procedures that must be specifically tailored to each person’s needs and desires to achieve a natural-appearing and safe result.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasties may be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures like an upper eyelid lift, filler injections, facelift, midface suspension, or canthoplasty (changing the angle of the outer corners of the eyes). Skin wrinkles of the lower lid or corner of the eye can be treated with Botox injections, skincare, or chemical peel.
