Orbital Trauma and Fracture Repair
When it comes to injury to the orbit, or eye socket, we are ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeons who have years of training and experience to perform procedures on the delicate tissues around your eyes safely. When there has been an injury to the eye socket or surrounding tissue, we refer to the injury as orbital trauma. Orbital trauma can include injuries to the orbit (pear-shaped bones surrounding the eye), facial bones, or to the tissues surrounding the eye. The following orbital trauma categories are addressed in this section:
- Orbital Foreign Body
- Orbital Penetrating Injuries
- Blow-out Fractures
- Orbital Fractures
- Traumatic Optic Neuropathy (Injury to the Optic Nerve)
After confirming a normal examination of the eye and surrounding orbital tissue and bone, we will focus on the treatment or surgical repair of the damaged tissues.
